ยท Invited schools will receive an invitation from the
Mathematics League Coordinators from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New
Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont. There is a $95 fee to
compete.
Here is a summary of the rules (Corrected and revised 4/10/24)
SCHOOL SIZE DIVISION DEFINITION: Depending
upon the number of students in grades 10 through 12, all teams will be
classified as Small, Medium, or Large, as follows:
- Small School: fewer than 450 in grades 10 through 12
- Medium School: from 450 to 850 students in grades 10 through 12
- Large School: more than 850 students in grades 10 through 12
Medium and Small School Teams.
- Six students to compete for each school.
- Maximum of 3 seniors.
- Maximum of 5 juniors and seniors combined.
- Each student will participate in three categories.
- Three students from each school will participate in each of the six categories.
- There will be a seventh category, TEAM ROUND. All six students participate.
Large Schools
- Eight students to compete for each school.
- Maximum of 3 seniors.
- Maximum of 6 juniors and seniors combined.
- Each student participates in 3 categories.
- Four students from each school will participate in each of the six categories.
- There will be a seventh category, TEAM ROUND. All eight students participate.
III. A team selected for (M) or (S) competition may elect to participate in a higher class provided no team in its own league has a higher standing in that category and has not been invited to participate. An (L) team must participate in class (L).
The Individual Rounds will cover the following topics:
Round I Arithmetic
and Number Theory
Round II Algebra I
Round III Geometry
Round IV Algebra II
Round V Analytic
Geometry
Round VI Trigonometry and Complex
Numbers
The team
round may include all of the above topics.
